All you need to know about Waiter, There’s Something in My…

by Jeanne Horak on May 15, 2007 8 Comments in Waiter, there's something in my..., WTSIM index

I remember the weekend, nearly three years ago now, that I first started this blog.  A dear friend of mine from South Africa was staying over at our place for the weekend, and at some point on Sunday afternoon, I excused myself and said I had to go and work on the computer.  Why, she asked – it’s weekend? So I said I wanted to set up my blog, which led to a 10 minute explanation of what a blog is, at which point she asked “But… why? So I explained all about how I love writing and I love food blah blah, creative outlet blah blah etc.  And I wanted to get it up in time to to participate in Is My Blog Burning? – Alberto‘s erstwhile themed monthly cooking event.  It was this event that got me hooked in the first place and led to my meeting a whole bunch of other wonderful bloggers around the globe, so it’s safe to say that I’ve always had a soft spot for foodblogging events…

It should therefore have come as no surprise that I would found an event or two myself -remember the End of Month Egg on Toast Extravaganza?  (Hmmm, might have to resurrect that…) And more recently, at the start of this year, Johanna, Andrew and I decided to launch Waiter, there’s something in my… (affectionately known as WTSIM).  The idea behind this event is to have very broad themes and to ask everyone to give us their own interpretation of a dish, whether it be seasonal, regional, nostalgic, exotic – you name it.  We host the event in rotation and after each event a roundup is posted, which often constitutes a pretty comprehensive recipe collection!

To help you navigate the WTSIM morass and to give you links to these extraordinary recipe collections at your fingertips, here is the definitive list of WTSIM topics and roundups:
