Saturday Snapshots #32

Green-Park-Daffodils-2009

Spring has sprung, Green Park, London – March 2009

Can there be anything that lifts the spirits as much as the sight of a carpet of daffodils with their impossibly yellow heads nodding gently in the breeze after a long, chilly, boiler-breaking winter in London??

Nope, didn’t think so.

Saturday Snapshots is a series of non-food photographs published Saturdays on CookSister. Previously featured photographs can be viewed on the Saturday Snapshots archive pages. Many photos featured in Saturday Snapshots are available to buy as high-quality greeting cards or prints in my RedBubble store.

I work right by a cometary and one of the things I love to do more than anything this time of year is just wander through and admire all the daffodils that have popped up in bunches around the tombstones. It’s so oddly relaxing!

Ah, I can feel your relief as well. The only thing taking the edge off all this springiness was my heating bill this week. After having it on 24 hours a day to accommodate new baby and fight the frost, it was UGLY. Still, yay spring. 🙂

Stunning daffodil. Wish they were blooming like that in New York, but spring hasn’t really arrived here yet. Your collection of photos is fantastic. Such a variety of subjects, we’re all wondering what will appear next. I’m also wondering what type of camera you use. Thanks for sharing these photos.

I love the sight of daffodils. After each miserable UK winter my mood is immediately cheered up by the sight of these beautiful flowers.
