Reach for the sky – Barbican, London 2007
I have written about the Barbican before – it is a multi-use residential and cultural centre in the middle of the City of London. It is loathed by some and loved by others for its concrete brutalist architecture, but its gardens indisputably provide an island of calm for city workers looking to enjoy a peaceful lunchtime break. I rather like the contrast of the delicate tulips and the solid concrete towers, reaching for the sky side by side.
This is part of a series of non-food photographs that will be published every Saturday on CookSister – all previously published photos may be viewed on the Saturday Shapshots archive pages. All photos featured in Saturday Snapshots are available to buy as high-quality greeting cards or prints in my RedBubble store. They make gifts, for friends or for yourself!
