Saturday Snapshots #20

Wooden-beach-stairs

Stairway to heaven – Plettenberg Bay 2008

Plettenberg Bay, South Africa, is without a doubt my favourite place on earth.  I’ve been holidaying there since before I went to school and I still try to visit every time I go home.  This photo was taken in Feb 2008 when we spent a week at the Beacon Island Hotel.  The stairs lead from Robberg Beach to the stunning beach houses in the dunes.  Come and find me there if I ever win the lottery 😉

If you love this photo, please take a look at my Life’s a Beach calendar in which it features – the perfect Christmas gift!

Saturday Snapshots is a series of non-food photographs published every Saturday on CookSister.  Previously featured photographs can be viewed on the Saturday Snapshots archive pages. Many photos featured in Saturday Snapshots are available to buy as high-quality greeting cards or prints in my RedBubble store.

Oh I’ve been there, my husband’s cousin wife has brother who actually has a vacation house near Plattenberg Bay. We spend our christmas eve’s and christmas day at their house. We also went to the beach. I don’t recall the name, but it was beautiful.
    Cheers,
    Elra

What memories I have of this place. I taught there for 3 years, the Primary school was still on the hill overlooking the most beautiful beach. Year before last we went to the Beacon Isle for our holiday….glorious!!!Great photo!!!

Aah, Plett… working at the Formosa, doing x-rated things in my tent with a boy from Amanzimtoti, drinking my last tequila, (haven’t touched it in 19 years)body surfing at Lookout, LOTS of good memories and crazy times.
(My ex owns a nightclub there and some trendy bar, will get you to stalk him next time!)

Love the picture! I haven’t visited Plettenberg Bay in ages. We used to go to Beacon Island Hotel too! Had some lovely seafood meals at the posh restaurant there and at another restaurant had butternut soup for the first time. Ahhh…
