First things first

Hi and welcome to my blog! I have been toying with the idea of starting one for a while – I was introduced to blogs by my friend Sally – not a food blogger but I think she can be persuaded – and got hooked on blogs due to Adam at Amateur Gourmet and Jeremy at Frost Street. But what finally persuaded me to get moving was the fact that I desperately wanted to participate in Is My Blog Burning – so here it finally is – my blog!

I won’t bore you with my personal details (yet!) – just to fill you in though, I am a South African and a lawyer by training and a lecturer by inclination. I am living in London with my husband (also South African) and have been here on and off since April 2000. I have got into the habit of writing a 5-page newsletter home every week and you will probably see excerpts from that appearing here – what I’ve seen, where I’ve been and, usually, a lovesong to London. You will probably also see some travelogue postings when we get a chance to nip across the Channel, and when I go digital, I will be posting some photos. But principally I intend this to be a food blog – where I’ve eaten and drunk, what I’ve cooked, what I’ve discovered lately. I will try to do a couple of posts a week so please do check back regularly and feel free to comment on anything I say.

Happy reading!

    Hi Jeanne
This looks interesting. However, seeing that you mentioned chicken ala king you’ve got to supply the recipe – for what it’s worth!!
Keep the email newsletters coming. We love reading them.

Jeanne, I’ve visited! No time to do it justice at the moment but I’ll be back during or after my holiday. Cheers Julie
