Saturday Snapshots #242

CapeTownStadium © J Horak-Druiff 2013

The mothership – Cape Town, March 2013

The Cape Town Stadium was built on the site of the old Green Point Stadium for the 2010 FIFA World Cup, which was held at various locations around South Africa.  By day, it is a gently undulating grey structure, but by night it is lit up from within and the glow of the lights through its metal lattice structure makes it look surprisingly delicate and ethereal for a stadium that holds almost 65,000 people.  I love it.
