Rose window in the Eglise St Pierre, Auvillar, France – September 2012

Auvillar is a Mediaeval village on the banks of the Garonne and has been named one of the most beautiful vilages in France.  It is a stop for pilgrims walking the Santiago de Compostela pilgrimmage route and home to the 11th Century Eglise Saint-Pierre.  This is just one of the impressive church’s many spectacular stained glass windows.
