Shoot Eat Write – restaurant review & photography workshop, 21 August 2011
Are you a restaurant blogger who wants to write more professional reviews? Are you tired of taking blurry, yellow photos to accompany your restaurant review posts? Or do you work in restaurant PR and need to produce good images of the room and the food, but lack the photographic skills to do so? If so, you are going to love Shoot Eat Write, a one-day workshop in Central London, focusing on restaurant review writing and restaurant photography.
The workshop is being run by popular food bloggers Michelle Minnaar of Greedy Gourmet and Jeanne Horak-Druiff of CookSister, and will take place on 21 August (10h30-16h30). The venue for the workshop is a private room in Tom and Ed Martin’s brand new central London restaurant, the Chiswell Street Dining Rooms and to enable the presenters to give individual attention to all attendees, places are limited to six people. The relaxed, hands-on and informal atmosphere will provide attendees with the perfect opportunity to ask these two experienced bloggers questions and receive individual advice.
Topics covered will include:
- restaurant reviewing – technique, tips and ethics
- low-light photography techniques for restaurants styling and composition tips for restaurant photography
- editing your restaurant photos
The price for the day is £130 per person which includes a three-course lunch, drinks and coffee/tea. There will be presentations both before and after lunch, and attendees will also be putting their skills to the test by photographing and writing about the meal. Detailed individual feedback will be given on attendees’ work on the day, as well as on their meal reviews posted after the workshop. All attendees will need to bring their own digital camera; laptop; and photo editing software.
