Things are definitely hotting up here at DMBLGiT HQ. Nearly 50 wonderful pictures have been submitted, the album of entries is visible in all its deliciousness, and soon the judges will have to lock themselves away in darkened rooms and pore for hours over these delectable images in order to score them. (Ok, maybe the darkened room is not strictly necessary – a sunny study and a glass of vino will be perfectly adequate )
So who are the esteemed judges this month? Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, may I please present to you the tremendously talented team of judges that I have assembled to help with the big decision this month:
First up we have my dear friend Ilva of Lucullian Delights. Not only does Ilva's distinctive aesthetic inform every foodie image on her blog, but also carries over to her sublime photos of her surroundings in Italy. She has been blogging for years and is one of the most inspirational photographers on the food blogging scene.
Next is another dear friend from a different hemisphere – the lovely Bron of Bron Marshall. Anybody who is familiar with Bron's blog will know and love her glorious photographs and vignettes of life Down Under – and her regularly changing banner With her as a judge, the contestants are in safe hands.
A newbie judge this round is one of my favourite South African food bloggers Juno of Scrumptious Blog. I was lucky enough to meet up with this talented lady in Johannesburg earlier this year and her blog has quickly become a firm favourite. Although it's her first time as a judge here, it is unlikely to be her last
No DMBLGiT judging panel would be complete without my old friend and Mr DMBLGiT himself, Andrew of SpittoonExtra! Multi-talented Andrew is not only an accomplished wine and food blogger, but he's a dab hand at the camera too – his travel and food shots are always a feast.
And last but not least, there's me, your host this month
So now that you know who's doing the judging, all that's left is for you to ponder the album of entries again and wait for the results to be posted on this blog on 31 July. Do pop back then and see how your favourites have fared.
Oh, and while you are waiting in suspense for the results, why not prepare yourself some tapas to snack on? The theme for this month's Waiter, There's Something in My… event is tapas and host Andrew has extended the deadline to 31 July 2009 – so submit your tapas recipe to him by then!
