Cooksister: The Restaurants

One of the things about being a food blogger that rather reminds me of being a doctor or dentist is the fact that people often corner you at parties (or work!) and ask for "professional" advice.  But whereas doctors have to face people pulling up their sleeves and saying "I have this nasty rash...", and dentists have to grit their teeth as someone opens wide, and points at the offending tooth halfway through chewing on a canape, at least food bloggers do rather enjoy giving advice on food.  Sometimes the questions are about recipes, but mostly people ask about restaurant recommendations.    So I thought it was high time that I collected all my reviews together neatly in one spot so that the next time somebody asks I can just send them the hyperlink.  And I'll keep adding to the list as I post more reviews.

Enjoy!

That's such a great idea to list all your restaurant reviews like this in one post. I hope you'll include a direct link to the post on your sidebar as well?

I'm hoping to come to London sometime in the next few years, so I'll certainly remember your list.

Thanks for that! Planning on visiting the Stockpot in June when we're on a two day visit to see the husband's Gran. It's right in our budget range too ;)

Hi. i love your food blog. am a baby food blogger having just discovered the joys of food blogging and me and my sisters just started a food blog. your site is a great inspiration! my fav restaurants in london are Foliage at the mandarin oriental and also Patterson's (though they seem to have added a lot more tables, it's even harder to get a table for dinnner). R

Jeanne, you've just reminded me I've got about 6 half finished reviews to write!! It's such a good idea to collate them like you have.

Hi Pille
Your wish is my command - link all done ;)

Hi Kalyn
I'll probably keep adding to it, so you will just be more and more spoilt for choice! I may also add an indication of price per head if I have the time...

Hi Ash
Oh yes - the Stockpot is a godsend for those on a budget! There's also another (yet-to-be-reviewed) place I discovered called Bistro 1 - 3 courses for £10! And a new dim-sum place (DimT) right on the river with a view of Tower Bridge with teensy prices... SO much to write, so little time!!

Hi Rach
Welcome to the wonderful world of food blogging! I've never been to Foliage, only the less formal restaurant in the Mandarin Oriental and even that was lovely. I enjoyed the Petrus review on your blog - look forward to many more :)

Hi Ros
Oh, you and me both! What you see on my blog is only the tip of the iceberg - my computer is littered with half-written reviews ;-) One day, one day... Glad you like the format I've presented them in.

Hello Darlings,

I notice that your list is sorely lacking any links from your fatherland, the great bond that ties us all together in a streamer of African emigrance??

Love and petite kisses

Me again...just was wondering what your views are on freedom of speech??

Oops sorry, should have read 'Frying of Spinach'

Gotta do better in New York next time. For example, Pearl Oyster Bar, Next Door Nobu, Blue Ribbon Sushi, Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory, Patsy's or whatever it's called now, Peter Luger, Nathan's in Coney Island, The Pickle Guys, Cones, The "David Chang Empire" of neo-Asian eateries, e.g. - Momofuku etc. Some BBQ place of your choice. I like Dinosaur and Blue Smoke. Chinatown Brasserie, and many others.

No need to mention Indian, French or other European cuisine as you have that beat in the UK.

Hi Jeanne. I enjoy reading your reviews and many adventures to restaurants in UK. I'm in a dilemma though and hope you'll be able to help. I'm planning to take my friend out for dinner on her birthday but can decide between Tom's Kitchen and Arbutus. Both sound really good.
