South African Blog Awards – please vote for me!

Yes, if you look up the word "shameless" in the dictionary, you will find a picture of me right there… This is a(nother) shameless tout for votes in the third annual South African Blog Awards.

I am extremely proud to announce that I have made the cut as a finalist in the "Best South African blog about food or drink", as well as in the "Best overseas South African blog" categories. Hurrah!  I can tell you, the competition gets stiffer each year and this year there is a tremendous selection of fresh talent out there.   There are sixteen categories and ten finalists in nearly all of them, so if you can’t find something that grabs you in that selection, you’re just being difficult

If you have enjoyed what you have read on this blog over the past year, then could I ask you pretty please to head on over to the SA Blog Awards 2007 page and scroll; down about halfway to where the voting bit starts.  Each finalist has a radio button next to it so all you have to do is click on the Cooksister button in Best blog about food and Best overseas South African blog, as well as voting in as many of the other categories as you like, before entering your e-mail address and submitting your vote.  Do remember that only one vote per valid e-mail address is allowed, so think before you click!  Voting is open until 16 March, so you don’t have much time.

As for me, I’m off to Andorra in the morning for a week of (eeeek!) skiing.  I am filled with trepidation as I’ve never tried skiing before.  So far, all I can say is that I’ve never in my life spent as much money on unflattering clohes – so far so depressing!  If I can find an internet cafe (and if I am able to move my limbs!) I will let you know during the week how we’re getting on…
