Happy 81st Birthday Millie!

Birthdaycakemillie_1 Well, would you believe it, another year has gone and the "Internet’s Oldest Blogger" just got a little older!

Yes, it’s true…

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MILLIE GARFIELD!

For those of you who STILL don’t know her, Millie is one of the greatest treasures of the blogosphere.  After being encouraged by her son Steve, she started blogging in October 2003 and hasn’t looked back since.  Last year she told us how, having never spoken in public, she was now such a blogging celebrity that she was being asked to speak at BlogHer 2005 – she was a little nervous but she did it.  And this year she was back – mingling with A-list bloggers like Robert Scoble and talking about how blogging has changed her life.  Her growing series of videos highlighting how frustratingly inaccessibe packaging can be is marvellous and her gentle humour does more to raise awareness than a hundred angry letters.

In between all this, Millie talks about her (hectically busy!) social life, trips to Florida, movies, friends and shares some stories from her life.  She is smart and funny and an inspiration to all of us.

Millie, it’s been a pleasure and a privilege to spend another year in your virtual company.  I hope you have a wonderful day and that the next year brings you only happiness and success.  I wish you the happiest of happy birthdays :-)

Hi Jeanne
That cake tastes as good as it looks. You see, I feasted my eyes.
Thanks for sending me such warm birthday greetings and all those good wishes!! Naturally, loved everything you said about me. ;.)
And the cake was vanilla and not chocolate, most people prefer chocolate but I am a vanilla lover. How did you know?
My best to you,
Millie

Hi Millie
Hurrah – glad I picked a vanilla one then! And the best thing about feasting the eyes is that it’s calorie-free! ;-)
Hope you had a fabulous day :-)
