Well, I shopped, baked, wrapped and finally today I went to the post office at lunchtime and officially put my EBBP parcel in the capable hands of the Royal Mail. And when I found out how much the postage would be, my head officially spun around three times and exploded. But that’s a whole other story, more at home in a post about my many visits to airport desks where people with no self-control have to go and pay for their dirty little habit of packing too many heavy things into one container. So more of that another time, perhaps.
But the gist of the story is that, after compiling a list of all the participants and sending out addresses over the weekend, my EBBP parcel is finally sealed and sent off to a mystery destination ;-) I have had a couple of e-mails from participants saying they also posted theirs off today, and a couple to say that they will only make it to the post office tomorrow – and I am still awaiting word from the rest of you!!
I also had an e-mail from a participant who sent me her details a few weeks ago… but I never received them :-( All I can think is that my spam filter is somehow to blame. I mean, I have in the past received e-mails with a subject line and content consisting entirely of the EU Prospectus Directive – and then had these quarantined as being "not work related". Because, of course, for some frivolous fun, everyone reads racy EU legislation!! :o) Anyway, I am working on a plan to make sure she can still play along, albeit a few days late. If there is anybody else who signed up but has not received an e-mail from me to tell them where to send their parcels, please let me know ASAP – the e-mails went out on Saturday already.
Please remember to send me an e-mail when you have posted off your parcel, as well as when you receive one in return. And of course, I need the link when you post about what you received!
And if you’re in the mood for more fun and games, why don’t you join in this month’s End of Month Egg on Toast Extravaganza? The theme is tabloid headlines so everyone can play along, and the "deadline" is Sunday 6 August!
