Second time lucky in the SA Blog Awards!

Celebrate Well, whaddayaknow.  After my rather pessimistic assessment of my chances of success in the South African Blog Awards, I clicked through to their site yesterday to find that… I’ve won Best South African Food Blog for the second year running!!  And all I can say is WOW and THANK YOU to all the indisputably fabulous (and discerning!) readers who voted for me :-))) Given the proliferation of blogs, the standard of the competition and my late notice of being nominated, I didn’t think there was any chance.  But clearly, I am not delusional when I say that I have a couple regular readers and clearly they voted! Like I’ve said before: some days you’re the windscreen, some days you’re the bug.  This is a definite windscreen day!

Do yourself a favour and check out the other winners too.  Cape Town based 2Oceansvibe walked off with best overall blog for the second year running (and also took Best Post of the Year with their rant about being served generic Tabaso alternatives – very funny!).  I kept a particularly close eye on the Best SA Photographic Blog as I sponsored the prize, and I’m thrilled to say that Cherryflava Pics won – although I wish I had enough prize money for the 2 talented runnners-up as well (Apparently Nothing and Gosu). And of course, a big round of applause to my two most worthy runners-up in the food blog category, my pal Brian at KitschnZinc and newcomer Hand to Mouth.

And of course, a huge thank you to Jonathan for initiating and organising the whole awards process once again… Look forward to next year!

Well hark at her and her awards! (sounds better in a Kenneth Williams camp voice… not that I can actually do a Kenneth Williams camp voice mind you).
Hearty congrats and friendly back slaps. Now blog more! ;-)

Congratulations Jeanne! You definitely deserve the win and I look forward to reading more of your wonderful (and funny, of course) posts :)
I’d love to visit South Africa one day…
