It’s not what you eat…

in Table scraps

So 2005 has arrived and I know that many of you have made New Year’s resolutions, and if you’re like me, at least one of those resolutions has to do with food.  For those of you who have resolved to eat more healthily in 2005, I am posting the latest scientific evidence regarding the ideal diet for a long and healthy life.  It certainly is a relief finally to know the truth after all those conflicting medical studies…

1. The Japanese eat very little fat and suffer fewer heart attacks than the Aussies, British or Americans.

2. The Mexicans eat a lot of fat and suffer fewer heart attacks than the Aussies, British or Americans.

3. The Japanese drink very little red wine and suffer fewer heart attacks than the Aussies, British or Americans.

4. The Italians drink excessive amounts of red wine and suffer fewer heart attacks than the Aussies, British or Americans.

5. The Germans drink a lot of beer and eat lots of sausages and fats and suffer fewer heart attacks than the Aussies, British or Americans.

CONCLUSION:
Eat and drink what you like. Speaking English is apparently what kills you ;-)

Paul,
Hmm. Sounds like Spiceblog’s “Feast on the flesh of thine enemies” Fridays event…
Red,
PRESIES!!! Gooi maar net Die Taal en jy sal (blykbaar) vir ewig jonk en gesond bly… You always knew there was a reason why we grew up in a “two-tailed” country!

Excellent – My New Year’s resolution is to reduce the use of the English language to the absolutely indespensible then :-)

Ronald,
Yes, I’m sure monosyllabic grunts and some gesticulating would work just fine… ;-) I’m certainly going to give it a try – for the sake of my health and longevity!
Tokyogoat,
And all this time you thought it was cholesterol that you had to watch out for!!
